Compliance Checkpoints are spots throughout treatment in which it is generally easier to tell whether or not a patient has been compliant. To perform a Compliance Checkpoint, use unwaxed dental floss to check for contact between the indicated teeth.

Contact means patient is complying. If your patient is complying, you would continue treatment as planned.
No contact means patient is likely not complying. Don’t continue with the next step. Have your patient wear the previous step for another two weeks and recheck for compliance at the next appointment.
