On June 1, 2017, we released Flex and Unlimited pricing options to ClearCorrect providers in the U.S. On January 1, 2018, they were released in Canada and on February 1, 2018 in the UK and Israel. They were released on March 1, 2018 for Australia and New Zealand.
These pricing options now apply in all countries where ClearCorrect is available.
As before, you can submit cases for free, with no obligation. But now, instead of picking a case type upfront, you can choose either pricing option when you approve the treatment setup.
Flex lets you pay per aligner for the exact amount of treatment you need—no more, nor less—without squeezing into arbitrary pre-sized bundles. Flex beats the other guys' pricing at every single point, in some cases by as much as 70%.
For one low upfront cost, Unlimited covers any aligners you need (including revisions and replacements) for a full five years. Even retainers are included—up to two sets every six months until the five years are up.
Both options include all shipping costs both ways.

When you approve the first treatment setup for a patient, you may select either pricing option, regardless of the number of appliances that you order. This article offers some guidelines to help you choose.
Flex
If you choose Flex pricing, you’ll pay for each treatment setup you approve and each aligner or retainer that you request.
You’ll need to approve a new setup each time you start or revise treatment. You don’t need to approve a new setup to order retainers or replacements.
Appliances are priced individually, not per step, so treating one arch costs less than treating both arches. Appliances will be delivered in one shipment.
Unlimited
You pay one flat rate, which covers as many setups and appliances as you need to treat and retain the teeth of one patient for five full years (the “Unlimited Treatment” period). After Unlimited Treatment expires, you may order additional products at standard Flex prices. Appliances will be delivered in phases of up to 12 steps each, timed to match your patient’s wear schedule.
Retainers
Retainers can either be based on a previous step or on new impressions or scans. During Unlimited Treatment, you may order up to two sets of retainers every six months. All other retainers are available at standard Flex prices.
Replacements
During Unlimited treatment, replacement appliances are covered in the initial cost. All other replacements are available at standard Flex prices.
Revisions
If your patient’s teeth do not move as expected, you may request a “revision” for any patient treated with ClearCorrect appliances. A new treatment setup will be created, starting from the current position. Teeth may also be overcorrected upon request. Revisions may be based on new scans or impressions or a previous step. During Unlimited Treatment, revisions are covered in the initial cost. All other revisions are available at standard Flex prices.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do the new options cost?
Pricing details are available here for registered providers.
Why do I see Unlimited (Legacy) in some places on the doctor’s portal?
We have changed the name of the existing Unlimited treatment option to Unlimited (Legacy) to differentiate it from the new Unlimited pricing option.
What is a legacy case?
A legacy case is any case treated with the Limited 6, Limited 12, and Unlimited (Legacy) treatment options.
Does the length of a case determine whether it is Flex or Unlimited?
No. You'll be able to choose the Flex or Unlimited pricing option for any case, regardless of how short or long it is.
What are the differences between Limited 6 or Limited 12 and Flex treatment?
With Limited 6 or Limited 12 cases, your case type determines how many steps you're allowed to order. You pay a fixed price, whether you treat a single arch or both, whether you need all of the allowed steps or not. The price includes one set of retainers, but only if you order it before the case closes (90 days after the last expected wear date).
With Flex, you can get as few or as many aligners and retainers as you need. You just pay for each approved setup and each appliance that you order. New cases, revisions, replacements, and retainers are all handled under the same pricing model. Nothing expires, so there is no concern about cases closing.
Does Flex pricing include a set of retainers with each aligner order?
No. Retainers are sold separately at the standard rate for appliances, which includes shipping both ways. There is no treatment setup fee for retainers, even if they are based on new impressions.
How much will revisions cost under Flex pricing?
Revisions are priced exactly the same as new treatment. You pay for one treatment setup and each new aligner that you need.
Is single-arch Flex treatment cheaper than dual-arch Flex treatment?
Yes. Because you only need half as many appliances, single-arch aligners and retainers cost about half as much as dual-arch sets.
What are the differences between Unlimited (Legacy) and Unlimited treatment?
Both the old and new options cover aligners, revisions, and replacements. However, Unlimited (Legacy) cases close 90 days after the last expected wear date, unless you order a revision to keep the case open longer. Unlimited (Legacy) cases include one free set of retainers, but only if you order it before the case closes.
The new Unlimited option does not close due to inactivity. You have five full years from the day you approve the setup to order any new aligners, revisions, or replacements you might need, at no additional cost. Instead of one free set of retainers, the new Unlimited lets you order up to two sets of retainers every six months, for the full five years. (That's two retainers every six months for single-arch treatment, or two pairs of retainers every six months for dual-arch treatment.)
How should I decide whether to treat a case with Flex or Unlimited?
If you want predictability and peace of mind, you can't go wrong with Unlimited. One upfront fee will cover anything you need for five years. Unlimited is a particularly good value for dual-arch treatment, and any case that is likely to need revisions, refinement, or long-term retention with clear aligners. Flex is particularly well-suited to single-arch treatment, smaller cases such as relapses or anterior correction, and cases where limiting the upfront cost is the primary concern. Of course, you can choose either pricing option for any case—it's up to you.
Can I cap the price or duration of treatment?
Yes. When you submit your prescription, you can optionally ask us to restrict the treatment setup to a certain number of steps. Be aware that restricting the treatment duration may restrict or prevent some of your other prescribed goals. In case of conflict, we will prioritize restrictions on treatment length.
The limit you set on the case will apply to both arches at this time. For example, if you have more planned movements on the upper arch than the lower arch, the lower aligners will become passive while you are completing treatment on the upper.
How can I predict how much treatment will cost?
You'll see the exact number of planned steps and treatment cost when you review the treatment setup. The Unlimited pricing option is the most predictable: one fixed rate will cover your needs for the next five years. The cost of Flex treatment can vary widely based on the length of treatment and the number of arches being treated. If this is a concern, you can set an upper limit when you submit the case. Under Flex treatment, there may also be additional costs over time for revisions or retainers.
Do the new pricing options include shipping?
Yes. The new pricing options include standard shipping costs for us to ship appliances to you and for you to ship impressions to us, for all orders. You are responsible for the cost of any shipping upgrades. Shipping policies may vary in other countries.
Will aligners ship in phases?
Under Unlimited pricing, phases (each containing up to 12 steps) ship separately, as determined by the wear schedule. Under Flex pricing, longer cases may still be split into multiple phases, but all phases will ship at once.
Will I still select a case type when I submit a case?
No. Any case can be treated as either Flex or Unlimited, regardless of its length. You can compare the price of both options and select the one you prefer when you approve the treatment setup.
Will existing cases switch to the new pricing options?
Until a legacy case closes for the first time, additional orders for that case (such as revisions or retainers) will be handled under the case's existing pricing and policies. Once a legacy case closes, any additional orders placed for that patient will be subject to the new pricing and policies.
What happens to cases submitted before the terms and conditions and pricing options changed that haven't been approved yet?
If you approve a treatment setup once these changes have gone into effect, you will be presented with the choice between Flex or Unlimited treatment, under the new pricing and policies, even if those options were not available when you originally submitted the case.
I receive discounted pricing from my dental group—will I see these new pricing options?
Dental groups can decide whether or not to transition to the new pricing options before their current agreements expire. You can ask your group for details, or contact your sales rep at (888) 331-3323.
Can I re-open a closed legacy case to order revisions or retainers at the old price?
No. Once a legacy case closes, any additional orders placed for that patient will be subject to the new pricing and policies. As explained in the terms & conditions, an order is considered to be placed when a treatment setup is approved (or, if a treatment setup is not needed, when appliances are prescribed).
Do my coupons and vouchers still work?
We expect most existing coupons and vouchers to remain valid. Coupons and vouchers for specific case types (such as Limited 6) may be converted to a coupon or voucher of equivalent value under the new pricing options. If you have any questions or issues, please call your sales rep at (888) 331-3323.
Will you still offer volume discounts?
Yes. On July 21, 2017, we implemented a new volume discount program that kicks in immediately after you place a qualifying order, instead of being calculated quarterly. Details for your area are available here.
