Treatment Plan Optimization Services (Brazil TPO) with OrthoExpert

What is TPO?

TPO stands for "Treatment Planning Optimization". TPO services providers will evaluate each malocclusion case and use our treatment planning software ClearPilot to optimize your setup considering the patient’s dental conditions, your treatment preferences, and your treatment goals. TPO providers help you plan for the most effective and efficient treatment possible while minimizing the risk of midcourse corrections or revisions.

It is important to remember that even expertly planned and optimized treatments can be impacted by conditions outside of your control (such as patient compliance, etc), so you should always monitor the patient's progress throughout the treatment to ensure they are tracking properly. If modifications to the treatment plan need to be made mid treatment, you should initiate a revision as needed (you may also order TPO services to help with revisions). While TPO services help you optimize your initial treatment plan, it DOES NOT replace the follow-up care necessary for clinical success. As the treating clinician, you are still responsible for the ultimate success of the treatment.

ClearCorrect supports any external TPO providers in your market via the Collaborator Suite, but we are also partnered with major provider OrthoExpert for a more integrated solution.

When and why TPO?

Providers should consider TPO in any of the following scenarios:

  • If you are new to ClearCorrect (or clear aligner therapy in general) and wish to jumpstart your practice while completing the onboarding process.
  • To increase your clinical confidence. If you are less experienced with complex treatments, you can use TPO for the support you need to help you to gain experience.
  • If you are struggling with modifications to the plan mid treatment on a complex case, consider adding TPO for your next revision to help you finish successfully. 
  • If you simply have too many cases coming in and don’t want to spend all your time treatment planning, TPO can be your efficiency solution.

Designed to meet the needs of dentists, OrthoExpert is a team of orthodontists ready to plan and submit cases together with clients, eliminating initial barriers and bringing more clinical confidence to dentists.

What is included in OrthoExpert’s service?

Every OrthoExpert order is for a single treatment plan optimization from submission to approval and includes the following:

  • One (1) online meeting to discuss your treatment preferences and walk through the case prescription form
  • Unlimited modifications to the setup in ClearPilot prior to approval
  • Virtual setup that incorporates the treatment plan and is then optimized to achieve a predictable and stable result while eliminating unnecessary movements and attachments.

OrthoExpert will work with you to refine your treatment preferences based on your clinical style and experience.

Each OrthoExpert order includes as many setup adjustments as necessary up until final approval of the treatment plan, however, does not include free revisions (providers may order OrthoExpert/Brasil TPO on case revisions separately for a reduced price).

How to submit an order for TPO?

Collaborator Suite in the Doctor Portal enables customers to order treatment plan optimization services directly from ClearCorrect® global TPO partners.

Collaborator suite features for TPO include direct ordering and communication through chat feature.

New Case

To submit an order for a new case:

  1. Create a case in the Doctor Portal
  2. Complete General Information, Records uploader, Treatment approach, and Additional Instructions tabs. Note: Recommended to provide x-rays to provide more clinical information for TPO providers.
  3. On the Submit tab, locate the TREATMENT PLAN OPTIMIZATION SERVICES section and select ADD TPO ORDER.
  4. Choose TPO Provider and select OrthoExpert TPO
  5. Select Payment Method. Note: Prices will vary depending on region and local market
  6. Complete billing information
  7. Select AGREE AND PAY
  8. Review and check the Patient Informed Consent, Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy.
  9. Click on SUBMIT to complete the submission of the case to ClearForward for TPO.

  1. Select Payment Method. Note: Prices will vary depending on region and local marketBrazil_TPO_1.png
  2. Complete billing information
  3. Select AGREE AND PAYBrazil_TPO_Pic_3.png
  4. Save the case draft (but do not submit) and return to the Manages Order page
  5. Click on the Collaborator Status icon to contact OrthoExpert via the Collaborator chat feature and ask about next steps.

Once you click “agree and pay” you will see in the Collaborator Status icon OrthoExpert will be assigned as a collaborator. Select the icon for more options. You can use the chat feature to communicate with OrthoExpert and view the status of your order. In the comments you may request any modifications to the treatment plan presented by OrthoExpert this will push the status back to "Evaluate Setup".

PLEASE NOTE: OrthoExpert may be creating modifications to the treatment plan within ClearPilot on your behalf, so DO NOT approve the case or request your own changes until the Collaborator status has change to “Ready for Approval”.

If you request modifications in ClearPilot before OrthoExpert has completed their optimization process, it will cause delays to your case.

Existing Case

TPO can be added to a current case that is in progress. To add TPO to an existing case:

  1. Go to the case details page for that patient.
  2. Select the REVISE button located under the patients name and case number.Brazil_TPO_Pic_4.png
  3. Locate the TREATMENT PLAN OPTIMIZATION SERVICES section and select ADD TPO ORDER.
  4. Choose TPO Provider and select TPO OrthoExpert Brazil. Brazil_TPO_Pic_5.png
  5. Select Payment Method. Note: Prices will vary depending on region and local market
  6. Complete billing information
  7. Select AGREE AND PAY
  8. Click on the Collaborator Status icon to contact OrthoExpert via the Collaborator chat feature and ask about next steps.
