Clear Aligner Basics
Dr. Ken Fischer and/or Dr. Jeff Briney presents this comprehensive 8-hour workshop on the basics of clear aligners. Featuring demonstrations and helpful advice on a broad range of topics, this workshop is ideal for doctors who have no previous experience with clear aligner treatment or for doctors looking to refresh their knowledge on the subject.

Restorative Treatment
Dr. Jeff Briney discusses how to differentiate between a restorative and an orthodontic patient, how to use clear aligners to position the teeth before restorative treatment, case examples with implants, training office staff in treatment planning, and more.

Unlocking the secrets of clear aligners and digital dentistry: Hands-on workshop
Dr. Melissa D. Shotell, DMD, MS presents a full-day hands-on workshop which encompasses intraoral optical scanning combined with exposure to digital work flow for clear aligner treatment. Clinical photography will be incorporated to allow participants to return to their home office and begin utilizing the digital work flow within their practice. This course aims to describe the procedures related to intraoral optical image production. Participants will have hands-on experience of bonding engagers to feel comfortable to return to their practice and being treatment. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the business skills necessary to incorporate clear aligners into their practice. The workshop is a PACE approved program offering 7 hours of CE credit upon completion. Continental breakfast and buffet lunch provided.
Course objectives:
- Understand principles, theory, and procedures of intraoral optical scanning technology
- Exposure to information on the incorporation of the digital flow into daily practice

Speakers
Dr. Ken Fischer, Orthodontic Specialist
Dr. Ken Fischer has been practicing as an orthodontic specialist in Southern California since 1975. He is a Past-president of the California Association of Orthodontists and currently serves as a council chair for the AAO.
Dr. Fischer embraced clear aligner treatment in 2000 and has treated a broad spectrum of malocclusions in over 1200 patients. He served on the Invisalign Clinical Advisory Board for 13 years, but now serves ClearCorrect as its Clinical Advisor.
He is the author of a number of published articles, a mentor, domestic and international lecturer, and consultant for clear aligner orthodontic corrections.
Dr. Jeffrey R. Briney, D.D.S
Dr. Briney is an award winning graduate of Indiana University and 20 year history of his private practices in Dana Point & Laguna Beach which have been featured in many dental publications. He is currently establishing a collection of practices in Dubai which will be debuting in late 2018. He speaks regularly around the world with regard to his personal approach to Surgical, Laser & Restorative Dentistry complimented with Facial Esthetics & Orthodontics for companies such as Biolase, Straumann, Coltene, Dentsply and Clear Correct.
Dr. Briney has provided hundreds of patients with the clear aligner technology via several different companies over the last 10 years and has chosen Clear Correct as his only provider over the last 4 years prior to him speaking on behalf of Clear Correct. He has developed the "Blending the Restorative & Orthodontic Treatment Plans" course for doctors who want to broaden their approach and thought process when it comes to seeing clear aligners as an adjunct to most treatment plans. Dr. Briney also writes for several publications ranging from techniques utilized in his personal cases to evaluating many dental products that are new to our dental field.

Rosemary Bray
Rosemary Bray has more than 30 years employed in the dental profession, with experience in general dentistry, periodontics and orthodontics. Her last 16 years were as OM and Treatment Coordinator for a quality San Diego orthodontic practice. In 1998, she began her self-employment as a speaker and consultant in Orthodontics and Dentistry. She taught oral hygiene and dental care to 400 children from 37 countries at the International Community School of Zurich. She has lectured nationally and internationally on behalf of the AAO, numerous orthodontic companies, various dental societies, ortho and dental study groups. She is also a visiting Clinical Instructor in the orthodontic department of the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco where she donates her knowledge and experience to future orthodontists.
Melissa D. Shotell, DMD, MS
Dr. Shotell has always believed that education is her true passion, so much in fact she has lived throughout the country to study at multiple universities to bring a broad set of experiences to clinical practice. Dr. Shotell studied dentistry at Nova Southeastern University in Florida where she met her husband, a fellow dentist. After completing her dental degree she studied hospital based dentistry at The Ohio State University and earned a General Practice Residency Certificate. Following her training at Ohio State, she worked as a private practiced dentist providing comprehensive dental treatment in Columbus, Ohio. After years in clinical practice Dr. Shotell realized that Orthodontics was her professional calling and returned to school at Loma Linda University to receive a Master’s Degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Shotell enjoys teaching continuing educations courses on orthodontics and ergonomics. Dr. Shotell has traveled as far away as India to teach and enjoys having the opportunity to share ideas and collaborate with other doctors throughout the world. Dr. Shotell also writes articles on orthodontic techniques for publication.
In her free time Dr. Shotell and her husband enjoy spending time with our friends and family, traveling, and exploring the local area. They enjoy cooking and consider themselves true ‘foodies’ always looking for new recipes and great local food. Their two dogs Pumpkin and Flower are always looking for mischief, and manage to keep them very busy.
